Fortunately my wish for clear skies was granted for my second night in Tekapo.
This scene has become somewhat of a cliche over the last few years as astro-tourism becomes more and more popular in New Zealand. None the less, it would have been rude not to add this little gem to my portfolio. ✔😁
Situated on the shore of Lake Tekapo, the Church of the Good Shepherd, built in 1935, was the first church in the Mackenzie Basin. The church is one of the most photographed in New Zealand.
Being situated in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve, the milkyway visibly is absolutely mind blowing.
The core of the milkyway leads onto the top left corner of the image, while Mars shines brightly in the top right.
