Recently named as the worlds most beautiful place and also New Zealands eighth wonder of the world, Milford Sound is found in Fjordland national park.
The park is part of Te Wahipounamu, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
It is actually a fjord not a sound, as it’s name suggests and is New Zealand’s only fjord accessible by road. Slightly left of center, Mitre peak. The iconic mountain of Milford Sound is one of the tallest mountains in the world, rising 1692 metres directly from the sea floor.
