Sunrise at Hooker glacier lake. Mount Cook national park.
Having decided to ignore the wet weather forecast for the region, we camped out at the White horse hill @docgovtnz campsite near Mount cook village.
I woke at 4am and was greeted by clear skies.
We geared up in the dark and made the 1.5hr hike out through Hooker valley to the glacier lake for sunrise.
What a sight it is to see the first light of day strike the snow on the peak of Mount Cook. 😍👌
